Season's Blending

This was taken this Fall near Silver Jack Reservoir here in Colorado. Snow had come through over night, and continued to fall off and on during my trip through the area. Always nice to have some snow with the fall color. An odd year, if you hadn't heard already. It was 2-3 weeks late, and it kept going longer than normal, too.

C&C always welcome, and thanks for looking,

Large version included,

Morris

Tk's wizardry, and Viveza used in processing.

Gorgeous Morris. The color is so intense against the snow. Being from Florida I may never see a scene like this so I especially appreciate it!

Morris, this is one of the pretties autumn scenes I have seen in a long time, beautiful natural colors, comp, and I think the snow was a huge plus to make this what it is. Gorgeous.

Wonderful crispness and colors in this Morris. A great fall scene and the snow really tops it off. Really nice. :toast:

This is a real beauty, Morris! I like how the foreground trees on the right grab my attention and then the mix of colors and snow leads diagonally up the mountain.

Wow. those two FG trees have such a flair to them, they really make this picture. Love the contrast between whites and yellows.

Large version is stunning! My fav portion is the trees just past the clearing...the aspens standing like the guards over the darker firs... and the details of the tree trunks... easy to feel the crunch of snow in this shot....

This is a stunningly beautiful shot Morris. I love the very realistic processing. This is one of those scenes that is gorgeous, and over-the-top darkroom embellishment would only take away from the natural beauty. I really like how the foreground trees rise from left to right, and how that then the mountain ridge continues the include back toward the left. The foreground, midground, and background do a great job giving a sense of depth, and I really dig your composition. The other possibility I see for this scene would be a telephoto closeup of the hillside in the background. It wouldn't have as much depth as the scene you have captured here, but it would also be an interesting photo with all that wonderful color against the seemingly black and white snow covered evergreens.

This is lovely, Morris. It's hard to beat the combination of snow and fall color. Excellent composition and wonderfully rendered.

I agree with Ben, I think you have a very interesting comp that really works well here Morris. I'm a big fan of the burnt up oranges and rust colors of aspen eaves after a snowstorm. A few of the foreground trees go from green all the way to rust. Love that!

Snow with fall color is a beautiful combo. Well see to catch the jagged near tree line as a counterpoint to the ridge line.

Love the fresh very crisp snow in the immediate FG. I think it sets this one up nicely. The amount of white in the clouds, and snow makes the colorful autumn display come to life even under muted lighting here and there. Well captured scene and good timing to be there too, Morris.

My only wish for this image would have been some of the dappled light on the FG as well. Well done.
