Shore Patrol

All my recent posts are starting to look alike, so I need to go back to "how I spent my summer vacation" when I was unable to post. (Family vacation to the Delaware shore) This is a foreign environment for me. I was so fascinated by by the waves, I didn't want to do anything to blur them. The faster shutter speeds also gave me the opportunity to capture another element of the environment that was new to me -- laughing gulls patrolling the shore, looking for crabs and washed-up sea snacks.

PLEASE check out the larger version!

A different take for you, Wayne. The mood with the fog is particularly nice and I like the way the gull and crashing wave seem to balance each other. The sun hiding in the fog is also a beautiful touch. It would have been nice to get a bit more of the wave, but that is being super picky.

An excellent, moody seascape, Wayne.

The large view is pretty amazing Wayne, what really makes it appealing to me is the wave and gull, as Ed mentioned, it balances it out beautifully. Also, I really like the pano, I'm getting tempted to try that my self, by the way, the oaks in my area are brown and dyed out, the scrub oaks are still looking good, I caught a few covered in frost, will post in a couple of days. Beautiful work as always Wayne. Take care.

The large version is very nice Wayne. I like the pano format. The positioning of the bird and breaking wave are just right. And the sun in the mist adds a lot also. Very nice.

The single gull adds so much interest to this composition. I agree with you ... the fast shutter speed was the perfect choice to freeze the action. I only wish that the breaking wave wasn't cut off on the right border.

This image is the epitome of beaches. The beautifully captured wave and the suspended gull almost bring the sounds and scents along with the visual. Excellent capture.

A great decision when your vision led you to the pano Comp Wayne. The presentation and elements in the image are beautifully done, and I very much enjoy this capture.

I really like this image. It has a very artistic feel. The mood draws me into the scene. I could see really big hanging in a gallery someplace.

Alright Wayne, you're infringing on my territory! I wouldn't mind except that you're doing it better than me! This is a real beauty - so well balanced and also so soothing and peaceful. Ya done good!!

Love the stretched pano comp for this. The gull is the perfect accent to the wave. I like this a lot.
