I really like the Colors and the comp. and the way the Ice ledge leads me through the image.

I really like this one, Carey! First of all, the exposure is perfect, capturing the brightness and whiteness without ever exposing which retains all the interesting and varied textures in the snow. Second, the details are sharp and the colors excellent (lots of fun things to look at). Third, the composition is very well balanced, especially considering the complicated features in the scene. The slanted log in the front and the taller tree in the back balance everything nicely. Very, very nice and very wintery!! :toast:

Hey Carey - when I saw the thumbnail it made me instantly think of Johnston Canyon. Very nicely captured - perfect exposure for the snow and ice. :toast:

What an interesting winter scene! Lots of wonderful elements to view in this and you composed them all together in a very pleasing way. This has a very smooth, but sharp look to it making the snow almost look like white frosting. I like the blue tint to the overhanging ice, the angled log, the straight pine trees, and the rounded blobs of snow. Beautiful!

Thank you Karen and Carolyn. The patterns in the snow was what really grabbed me and I'm baffled as to how those shapes were formed.

Looks very cold. I sure do like how you caught the blue color in the icicles and the comp. with the log and the scattered trees.

What a wonderful crisp, clean and very interesting scene. Simple winter. Cool colors, with the blues and the greens, amazing detail in the white that you have kept and not over exposed. Everything is in its place and very well composed. One for the wall here.
