Boy, this is sort of an iconic kind of scene for winter (and near a bird feeder?). In New England the species would be a tufted titmouse and tree sparrow. Nice perch to give you some separation of the two. Love the snow. Excellent detail and color. Only nit would be to fix the RH bottom corner to make a band of lighter BG similar to the left of the vertical stick. Sure brings back memories for me.

Great capture, Howard! Amazing to get both birds in focus, looking the same way, on nice perches, and with a pleasing high-low comp. The blowing snow adds to the coldness of the image and also heightens the sense of vulnerability of these birds. . .I'm always amazed these little creatures can somehow deal with all that winter has to dish out. One way is by fluffing their feathers to keep warm, as you little sparrow is doing. Another way is by depending on kind humans to provide food at feeders. The birds are quite busy at our feeders today, I guess "anticipating" our coming snowstorm.

This is wonderful, Howard. What are the chances of catching these two different type of birds being this close to each other on a snowfall day such as we see here. The image is excellent, and to obtain the clarity of each bird at what appears to surely be different DOF's is amazing IMO. Very nice work, as always......

Excellent capture, Howard! The crop was a good choice for a composition and it is impressive that both birds are in focus. The streaks of blowing snow really add to the atmosphere and reality of the scene. The exposure and colors are perfect also. Very nice!!

Two birds that I really enjoy watching, especially in winter at my feeder. Excellent catch with sharpness where it matters most on the sparrow. Both the falling snow and the added canvas are important elements.

A very nice catch Howard; really demonstrates the fortitude of wildlife in the winter. Like the pose you had them take... , one on the upper left and one on the lower right, like they were following the Rule of Thirds! Colors and detail in both birds look great.
