Light of Hope

I just finished processing this one.....somehow this was a hard one to process. I started several times anew. This was taken on the same morning as one of my previous posts (Into The Light). We sat for quiet some time in the fog and already thought, well, we go back home with no picture as suddenly the fog lifted and the show began.

Good impact and very dramatic lighting. Good capture on your part, and excellent crafting.

Beautiful Bill perhaps the snow is a fraction to luminously cyan in the front for my taste but everything else has an air of majesty to it. Love it.

I'm with Chet on the snow color, and even a crop off of the right side as there's not much interest over there. But, the light is grand, and the steepness daunting.

The bright area on the left might cause the attention to be drawn away from the cliff but a very nice comp and capture of a fleeting moment.

This one feels much more moody and ominous compared to your more recent images but I like it. The warm light on the trees is very nice and creates a nice contrast like the light piercing through the darkness.

This is really compelling to me ,Bill. The light leads my eye around thru the trees and to the edge of the precipice. I like the snow on the cornice and everything else about this . I'd love to see a b/w conversion as the drama would only multiply. Very nice image. :toast: :toast:

This has a similar feel to Into The Light, but very different lighting. The sense of "about to go over a big cliff" is great and the spot lighting on the midground ridge works very well. It seems that you found a good process. It must have been a terrific morning.

Thanks once again for your honest feedbacks and comments. The cyan was a tough one here and I think and also agree that I can reduce the cyan color a bit.

Very dramatic lighting and comp Bill. Other than the cyan in the snow I'm really enjoying this one. Beautifully seen. :toast:

Cracking shot Bill, the conditions look beautiful (albeit freezing). I am getting a touch of vertigo looking over the edge. Very nicely framed.

I really like your comp here Bill. The curving wrap really leads the eye to that nice focal point, and emphasizes the nothingness beyond. I'd try to darken the sunshine on the left, and increase it on the far point to magnify the effect.

Beautiful! Very unique composition and lighting. Love the textures in the snow, a little blue as some have mentioned but it plays off the warm sunlight on the trees and snow. Was wondering if there is any more detail in the dark cliffs. I think it would help balance the draw to the bright snow covered trees on the left. Lots of planning and patience for this one!!

That is some very beautiful light you've captured here Bill. The fog adds an element of mystery to the scene. Colors blend well (cyan a little too strong on the work monitor but just right at home). A very pleasing image overall.

This shot is incredible, probably my fav of the recent ones you posted. That drop off and darkness in teh background and the drop off is heart stopping. I would love to see this in real life (and would probably be scared sh*tless in a good way). The light on the snow encrusted trees is just the perfect touch. :toast:
