I like the variety of color in this image, Bob. Overall I also like the composition - I'm a little torn on the Ocotillo cactus though. It seems to interrupt the flow of what is otherwise a great image. I'll be curious to hear others' thoughts.

Thanks Brian- I felt that it was so thin & wispy that it would add to the desert feel without blocking the view through the scene. I'm interested in what others might think too.

I like this a lot Bob. I think the inclusion of the ocotillo adds to the scene. Showing the variety of flora helps round out the shot. Obviously the cholla are the star of the show and everything else is gravy. Really nice.

It's a nice looking image, except for that taller cactus in the back. Even though it's thin it definitely detracts from the overall scene, imho.

The stormy sky makes a great backdrop to fine color of the cacti and peaks. Beauty.

Bob,
Terrific potential here but the Ocotillo cactus interferes with the anchor point IMO. I would like to see something less visual confusing. The exposure and detail are superb :toast:

Lovely look at these cacti with the ridge in the background. I like how the cholla grab my eyes and pull them into the distance. For me, the ocotillo is in the right place and adds a nice change of pace to the fore/mid-ground. The soft lighting really shows off the spines of the cholla. Well seen and captured.

This is a beautiful image. I'm not really sure about the big cactus in the midground......for my perssonal taste it's a bit of a distraction. Great exposure and colors and overall it's a beautiful image

Lovely scene Bob and I really like how you positioned the Cholla cactus. The sky color sets it off nicely. I agree about the other cactus distracting a bit but very nice as is. Very nice.

I like this very much as is. the tall cactus adds a little tension and keeps my eyes in the frame. without it, I think I might exit left before I got the chance to explore those lovely buttes.
