Leopard on the rocks

On our trip to Sri Lanka we visited Yala NP to search for the fantastic Leopards. At the end of one of the days in the park we came across a huge pile of rocks. This Leopard chose this great spot for an afternoon rest.

D7100, Sigma70-200@200mm, 2x converter, 1/100, 5.6, cropped to 40%. :wavey:

Ellen,
I wonder if IQ allows whether a closer crop would work, nevertheless a great pose :toast: :toast:

Ellen ..this a beautiful image of the leopard in its usual environment. Looking away the leopard is at peace ..is what i feel ..very well composed from the Yala...

Hi Ellen,

Love the image title! This one works well for me as posted - I like how the leopard seems so relaxed as well as how much of the environment you've included in this one (personally I wouldn't want to see this one cropped closer). Very nicely done (and no nits from me).

Thanks for sharing this one...

Very nice Ellen; what a great setting! I do think a tighter crop (omitting the trees in the ULC) would work well compositionally too, but since this is already cropped significantly, I would not advice going that route.

Hello Ellen

WOW, a beautiful capture with an amazing specimen :)
Very Cool
The setting has some Very power lines , all drawing you into the Leopard and his Very-Cool composure.

Thanks for sharing

Wonderful sighting Ellen.
Great relaxed pose and the rocks make a neat background.
My only niggle is the patch of greenery in the top LH corner which I find distracting, and i wonder how it would look if you cropped this out. :toast:
