Much better view here. I find the camouflage very interesting. It's a mottled look I'd expect to see more from a herp or insect than a mammal.

Definitely an interesting critter. I think you can crop in a fair amount left, top and bottom, without losing the sense of environment and that would give us an even better look at him. There is also a noticeable green cast, likely from the surrounding foliage, that I would eliminate so that we can see his natural coloration more clearly. Thanks for sharing these. I have never seen one before your posts.

hello John
First time seeing this guy too!
Looks very different than other fur bearing guys! I find a little more brightness required would assist to see him better.
Thanks for sharing

If it is all day sleep, you found one with open eyes! I think I want to visit this site someday. I am noticing a bit of high ISO noise and wonder if this is a strong crop or just effects of 6400 with that sensor.

Lon, the open eyes were when I woke him/her up. The photo was taken before the sun was setting and my local guide used a flash light on the subject and got the head turn. The high iso was from a low light area and time of day.

The camo built into this critter's fur is pretty amazing and your image shows that off nicely.
