Pyramid Peak

Found this kicking around my hard drive from last fall. This is the central mountains of the island and shows how hard it is to find fall colors in this heavily forested area. Waited for rain clouds to start leaving the peak and got lucky with a small break in the clouds sending light across the scene.

Very nice, Bill. The stormy clouds around the peak add a nice atmospheric element, and the foreground bush is a nice counterbalance to the off-center placement of the peak.

Nice wide angle work, Bill. Love the mist half way up the mountain. Also like the fallen tree that points to the subject mountain. Nice leading line.

Best wishes,
Carol

It looks like a volcano going off, Bill.
Dramatic clouds. I might be tempted to punch up the color in the foreground.

Pretty scene Bill, very nice color and comp, also like the fog lifting out of the trees. Beautifully done.

The vertical take works well on this scene, Bill. It has a sense of progression in overall elevation with this view from the FG bush to the top of the mountain peak. The cloud break and light adds to the excellent view overall.

Beautiful Composition Bill, really like the diagonal placement of the elements. The cloud for me makes this shot! :toast:

Love the texture here, Bill. Little hot on the top left but I think it's close

I hear you about evergreen areas; fall color can be a real challenge. The foreground color worked out nice Bill. The upper left corner does seem a little too contrasty, but easily played around with.

beautiful colours, Bill. I like the diagonal in your comp from the fg bush to the top cloud... the fog adds a lot to the mood

The large view is very nice, Bill. If you think fall colors, are tough to find in the evergreens, you should try the desert  The lifting fog is cool, it pays to be patient most of the time. :toast:

I'm a little late on this one Bill, but glad I caught it now. I like your composition here and really enjoy the light and color in this image. The fog and clouds added a special touch! I enjoyed your larger version!
