Cattle Egret

On Wednesday I drove over to Jefferson Island rookery near New Iberia. There were a few Snowies and Roseates, as well as good numbers of these in breeding plumage. This is the only one I captured in the open. A rather strong crop at 54% of original, but I thought the detail held up pretty well. Larger image included.

Nice light and colors on this one Bill, it stands out well against the dark BG. We actually have a few Cattle Egret in Denver this year. It was a nice surprise.

A fine shot of this very fancy fellow; you've done a very nice job on the subtle colors of the breeding plumage. I was never able to get away with 50% crop with my E-5. Well done.

Beautiful light and great details especially for the crop. The eye, head, bill and colors are all quite nice. Sharon
