On 29Jan2012 this bird was perched beside of the Madison River in Yellowstone NP, Wyoming, USA. It was fishing, but I was unable catch that action.

Good handling of the whites. I wish there was a little more eye contact but I have learned quickly that you play what you are dealt. I find the background a little noisy and if it were mine I might run a pass of noise reduction but that is me and my obsession. Nice photo. Bill

Nice detail in the plumage, Ronald. I think I'd run some noise reduction on the bg-the 7D is pretty noisy at that iso.

This is a really neat shot! I love his perch and the colours in the background. His talons are awesome!!! I wish you could see a little more of his eye, but otherwise this is awesome. I love eagles and can't wait to get some more pictures of them soon because they are one of my favourite birds.

Are those icicles hanging down between his talons or just wet feathers? Pretty cool either way!
