Hoh Rain Forest, Olympic National Park, WA

For me, finding satisfactory compositions here was difficult. The bright, blue sunny sky didn't help either.

Raw file processed in LR5, with TK resize/sharpening for web. Selective dodge and burn.
Canon T3i, 1/10 s, f/5.6, ISO 200, EF 70-200 mm f/2.8 @ 70 mm, CPL

Please view the large image!

Seeking any and all advice and comments. Thanks in advance.

Messy and chaotic, but the mossy branches give it some order and structure Ron. Good job achieving that and showcasing the riot of green growth that is the the Hoh rainforest!

Most excellent, Ronald. I love all the tangled part. As an option, it might be good to consider cropping the ferns at the bottom to accentuate the tangles. I would imagine that navigating around there can be a real nightmare.

Strange looking place to say the least, I would love to get into there. Really like the dappled light flickering through the rich green forest, and your composition works for me. Nicely done Ronald.

Nice job extracting order from chaos. The color and contrast look good. I think you did well with this one.

You did very well with this. Great tree pattern. While it is wild, the pattern holds the image admirably.

Very cool Ronald. I love the mossy branch lines cross-crossing this dense scene. Nice processing to capture all the tonal values.

Excellent, Ron. I like the pretzel-like moss-covered branches and the way you completely filled the frame.

This is simply fantastic, Ronald. You really made this chaotic forest scene work for you in this image and the pattern of the moss covered branches is so cool; reminds me of a pretzel. Great eye to spot this.

For what could have been a chaotic looking scene you've made this look magnificent, Ron. As always deep forest scenes are tough for comps and lighting, but this one is just perfect in all respects. Makes for a large abstract with all the twists, turns, and figure 8, or Olympic rings look going on......EXCELLENT.

Really nice, Ronald. I'm sure I would have a tough time trying to find something coherent in this tangled maze. I could offer nothing to improve this. Sweet.

Really nice job finding these swirls and patterns Ronald and the processing looks great. Very difficult to find scenes in the rain forest but you've done an excellent job here. Really nice. :toast:

perfect depiction of the Hoh! Good eye to find this comp in such a complex landscape. the complexity of biomass shows well, and the "web" of moss covered boughs gives a nice area of focus through which to wander this rainforest with you. :toast:
