"Supper Time at the Tide Flats" (never enough room in the title block)

This was taken in 2006 when I was just beginning to really appreciate how nice a landscape camera my new Sony DSC-R1 was. I've always liked this shot because it is the essence of summertime in Valdez with the mountains, glaciers, tide flats and birds.

Really like the bit of interactive shot here, Gary. The gulls and birds in the scene make the open static landscape seem to come to life. I always enjoy your takes on Alaska and get my flashbacks fulfilled seeing these areas once again. Although, I never made it into the Valdez area. My travels where almost all over the rest of the state however. Nice peaceful scene......

Beautifully peaceful, Gary. I'm sure enjoying all the greens and blues with the scattering of white clouds and gulls. Definitely puts me there.

Beautiful scene Gary, and quite tranquil, as Paul mentioned the Gulls really bring this scene to life. Beautifully seen and presented.

Hey Gary,
Man-0-Man, what's not the like about this image ?
This should be in the Post Card rack in every National Park Gift Shop for everyone to enjoy and mail back home with 'Wishing You Were Here' written on the back.
Well done . . . :toast:

Gorgeous scene Gary. Well composed. I feel like I'm there. As others have mentioned, the birds in flight simply put it over the top!!!

Thanks for sharing :toast:
