This is so nice. Reminds me of a Winslow Homer watercolor except it B&W, if that makes sense. A 19th century rendition of the natural world. The layout of all that steam across the image makes a perfect composition.

A very very very minor nit is that snow line at the bottom of the frame.

Real nice! I wish you posted a large version. Lots of nice detail in there that is hard to discern at the small size.

Nice lens, too. I wish I could afford such a beast. :)

Perfect in b/w! To me, detail is not important here. This is mood, mood, mood. I believe I would have attempted to burn in the hot spot at the base of the cone and cropped out the snow line. Other than those admittedly minor nits, I would love to see this in the real. On my bucket list! :toast:

Really nice contrast and drama to this image. "Otherworldly" in signature Yellowstone style. Others have mentioned the snow line along the bottom. With only the small image to view it almost looks like a weird selection artifact. I do like the crop here. :toast:

Nice mood, here. I love the steam. Just curious about one thing. Most of the steam is fairly neutral in tone, while the column in the center is decidedly more blue. Why is that? I really like the light.

I agree with Harley regarding posting a large version.

Sweet black and white, Peter. Probably not a moodier place on the planet.

Definitely steamy and otherworldly. Going b&w here adds nicely to the drama.

This really is marvellous. The steam seems so perfectly distributed.
