Celebrating my one year anniversary since posting my first photo here on NPN. I've really enjoyed the journey so far. Met lot's of good folks and learned a ton. Looking forward to the next year. This is from one of my local haunts taken last Sunday. Putting a new 14mm Rokinon thru the paces. So far so good.

Your b&w talents are superb. Love the ice, rock and clouds. :wavey: The lone scrub tree is icing on the cake. Happy New Year and keep em coming.t

Congrats on the one year anniversary, Gary. :toast: I have always enjoyed viewing and commenting on your beautiful B&W's. The large version showcases the details, textures and tones rather nicely. I could also see this working with some of the clouds being lightened just a touch. Looks like you got a winner with that new lens.

Congrats on your one year anniversary and it is an excellent image for the occasion. The rock patterns and pool provide a great foreground to lead into that killer sky. Very well done!

The Rokinon 14mm is working well for you. I got a chance to use a Rokinon 35mm and was impressed by the lens build and the image quality. It was a tank.

Congrats on the anniversary, Gary. I have benefited a lot from your participation here, so that's a happy occasion for me, too.

Thanks for yet another great example of what can be done compositionally with a rocky landscape, and how effective black and white can be to illustrate the forms and textures of Nature. Love what you did with the 14mm. Watching what you do with it will inspire me to get mine out of the bag more often! Your processing really brings out the way those clouds complement the landscape.

The sky looks great and your usual nice B & W pp.
I love my Rokinon, I bought it for star photos and now use it as prime landscape lens.
You will like it a lot.......

Gary, Congrats on your one year post anniversary! It has been great seeing your work here and this one shows us why. Very interesting comp which works great, and I love how those clouds work so well with this image.

Wow, it seems like you've been around longer than a year, Gary. I like the juxtaposition here between the frozen pothole and the rock above and to it's right. The sky adds a lot of interest.

Fun spot and lots to look at. Think this could benefit greatly from some tonal range adjustments to get those lights popping in the rocks. Nice find.

That lens seems to be working well for you! Great lines in the rock complemented with nice clouds. I have the same lens and love it, even though it has some distortion.... I use it to make most of my night photos, since I discovered that my working horse wide angle 16-35 (Nikon) gives a red glow on my images during very long exposures.

Nicely done, Gary, hope that you will continue long after your 1st anniversary, and looking forward to more. You're lucky to live so close to some of the most scenic areas of our country.

with such a wide angle you really need some interesting foreground, and you found it here. I feel this image puts me there; I like it.

Real nice, Gary. Excellent composition and the light is wonderful. You might try to bring up the lighter values in the rocks. They are almost there, but just need a little boost.
