This is the result of an 11 image stack. I wish I had a little more time for more shots, but the sun popped out from behind a cloud and changed the scene dramatically. I was able to key this one out as Lestes inaequalis. K5 IIs 180mm f3.5 (1/100sec at f10, ISO 250). Exposure, rubber stamp tool, levels, shadows and highlights, Pmax......................................Jim

4 commentsExcellent again, Jim. I like the spread wing pose and the beautfiul colors in the DF. Superb detail via the stack.
Hey Jim,
Excellent work in the field and in post-processing on this Dragonfly. The details are outstanding and the lighting superb.
Well done . . .
Jim, the sharpness on the front side of this damsel looks great as do the subtle colors and metallic sheen. The oof farside wings fit well also. Getting a good stack on a skittery subject, outdoors is quite a challenge and this one looks great. In the larger version there are lots of dark dots in the background that I think are stack artifacts. It's artifacts like that that almost always have me blending the sharp area from a stack with the background from one (or more) of the individual frames.
Excellent head to tail sharpness and DOF Jim, nice!
Your trademark natural color, great light & processing/stack
