Pink Profusion

I had just finish a backpack in NH's White Mountains and was heading home when I spotted this field of lupine.  Based upon the field's orientation, it looked like AM light would be better than afternoon.  I checked my map and figured the sun would rise roughly behingd the field.  The forecast for the next AM looked ify as rain was coming in.  I decided to spend the night in my car so I could be in the field for sunrise.  The pre-rain sky was fantastic and well worth the change in plans.  I stacked several focal slices to keep flowers sharp.  Great dynamic range in the RAW file allowed a lot of flexibility in processing.

Nikon 810, ISO 800, f11

Clearly my spelling needs some special attention!

This turned out nicely.  The different shapes of the flower stalks add character.

Beautiful image, Harry!

Some very lovely light there. Loved the way the clouds sort of mimic the flowers in the FG in terms of colour and pattern.

Bala

This is great Harry, with the close coordination of colors between the lupines and the sky.  The shapes in the flower stalks add lots of additional interest and dynamism.

Looks like your visualization for this image payed off, Harry.  Love the in you face explosion of color and the sky is very complimentary.  The detail in the stack looks perfect.  Nice work as always.

The pink in the flowers and in the sky is just perfect. This is great on many levels. Nice job with the stack also, I can imagine that to have been a nasty process, unless you were granted a completely windless moment.

It was worth passing the the night in the car. I like those lupines in FG that look to say "Eh watch the sky we have the same dress" . Very nice details kept by a very well done stacking.

Looks good Harry.  I have no suggestions.  The wavy flowers remind me of pink cobras dancing upwards.

Wow - really great shot Harry. The matching colors in the sky and flowers is very nice - also very sharp and great tonal range. Great planning and congrats!

Very nice light in the sky. I also love the blooms and how they match the sky. Compositionally, the lack of separation between the blooms and the treeline behind is a minor nit. Do you have any frames where you shot from a higher angle than this? Well done overall!
