Bug-eyed 'Peeper'

I thought I'd keep the 'peeper' thing going, I'm on a rollblush

This angle gave me a 'bulbous' view of the single eye I don't often see in the larger DF's.

F/14, 1/250th, ISO 640, 5DM2, 300mm f/2.8 + 3x ext. & fill. Hard light @ 12:56pm & clear.

Cropped to 4447x2965 (Widow Skimmer DF)

This is a neat catch with the focus on that eye, Howard.  The eye really grabs attention with the head turned like that.  I think the strong sunlight helps that focus nicely.  You've also got good sharpness on the body and wing centers.

Another superb DF image, Howard. Expertly composed and captured. You really are a master of fill flash and processing. The color and detail throughout the image is super even though it featues is a dark subject with white wings shot in hard light. Kudos. devil
