I'm still practicing with the 600mm in order to figure out bird photography.  House finches are practice worthy because they do not frighten easily.  This male has been raising a cowbird that has been obnoxiously begging for any morsel of food.  K5 IIs 600mm f5.6, ISo 1000). Levels, Topaz Detail, Exposure, Nik Pro-sharpener, slight crop for comp. Let me know what you think.  I wish I had more light, but did OK at 1/200sec exposure................................Jim

Nice bird, nice perch, although I would be tempted to remove the the branch on the left side after the bird. And it looks like you could remove some noise in the background.

Hi Jefferson,

I selectively removed the noise from the Bg and removed the left most branch.  Thank you for the suggestions.................Jim

Nice pose and reasonable image quality, Jim.  Looks like it could be a bit sharper even at 1/200th.  How are you supporting your rig (tripod, head, etc.)?  I love the bg.
