Mountain scene

Exploring some remote mountain scenery last weekend.
The clouds were moving fast and created some soft light and nice photo opportunities.
Photo best viewed in large size.

Jim,

Yes, the changing and diffused light most times will create some great photo opportunities - and it sure didn't hurt here.  The almost misty clouds created somewhat of a hazy look, but most certainly avoided harsh and contrast, so it works well.  I really like the diffused light between the two ridges on the left.  And there is even a sense of scale with some inclusion of a bit of the valley on the right.

Very nice mountain scene.  The only comment/suggestion would be about the lower left corner.  I would like to either see more of the foreground or perhaps none.  In you case though I don't think a crop will work since you would lose much of the rock face. So I guess it's better to leave it.  Minor point anyway.

Thanks for sharing

Lon,
thanks for your comment. I agree about the light in the valley on the left and the FG.
This is a difficult one, as more of the FG would not add much to the picture in my view, and as pointed out less would remove some of the mountain scenery on the left.

Anyway, here is the cropped image....I like this too, but think the original give a better perspective.

The image gives me a great feeling of depth. I like the image and do not feel that it needs anything.

I see your dilemma with the cropping, the extra mountain scenery in the original post does add some nice perspective. Maybe try burning the brighter foreground rocks?
