This is from a trip I made to some local waterfalls at the beginning of October. Comments and critique greatly appreciated!

Canon 5d2, 24-105 @28mm, 15s, f22
Some contrast work using TK's actions, and a crop off the bottom to a 2:1 ratio.

Craig,

I think the crop did well to make the composition work quite well.  There is quite a bit going on, but there is a nice flow to things. My first thought was, I wish there were more of the motion of leaves and foam at the bottom.  And then I see you mentioned a crop from the bottom.  While the crop works, I'm now curious what the original looks like.

Processing looks great here and even though the streaking leaves at the bottom are bright, they're not washed out, which is important.  No nits really, nice job with this!

Initially I thought the foam clumps were a little too eyecatching and detracted from the scene but the elongated format you have used and the lower viewpoint together is helping to soften their impact on the picture and allow the eye to meander up the river along the curve of the mossy green rocks in a very pleasing way.  That cascde at the top left corner is a great visual aid to assist in the continuing flow of the river.

Nice composiiton and vibrant colors here.  I like the slow shutter speed and the swirls - but the white streaks don't do it for me.  If this was loaded with leaves I think it would work quite well - but in this instance I think a slower SS would be a better choice

This is visually trippy, if that's really a word.sad I like it. It's like you are expecting leaves to be the main draw and you get foam. The large view is really entertaining. The greens are right on and the inclusion of the stream top left is very nice.  Nice work, Craig.

Cool view up this little canyon.  The log, flow direction all lead my eye through the image.  Even the little cascade in the UL brings my eye back into the image. Nicely done.

My first thought was that I would like to see more motion in the water, which would mean an even longer SS than your 15s. But that is not really a big deal at all, works very nice like this as well! I like the format you have chosen, very effective.

I am not bothered by the blur to the FG water swirls. To me it represents movement. I think the tones and colors are okay.

This has a fine sense of flow, and the color is nicely done. The pano crop works well.

Lon, sorry for the delay, but here's the uncropped version. Hopefully you get to see this.

It's interesting to see both the crop and the original.   You definitely get a different sense of movement in the original.  Way more movement.  I like both of them.  15 seconds?  Wow, interesting.
The orginal feels like it's rushing at you.  The crop feels slower. I think you did a good job when you cropped it. It really brings out the rock and the upper part of the stream.  Excellent job on the exposure and post work on this.
