Sony A77
Sony 70-400G @ 280mm, 20mmXT
ISO 200, 2  secs @ f16

Chrissy brought these orchids home a few days ago so I decided to immortalize them in pixelsangel. Anyway, it was a fun session in front of a window and this was one of the comps I liked most. All comments welcome. >=))>

Bill, these are just juicy! See you got the 70—400. How do you like it?

Phil: I've had the lens for about a year and love it. I use it mostly for landscape work and find it really easy to work with. I generally do not use it much for close work as I don't like working with tubes on a zoom lens but there are times where the flexiblity of the zoom  comes in handy and this particular session was one of them. I won't be replacing the 200 anytime soon though.. . Bill

I like the comp as well, Bill. I like frame filling design. It's a good compromise between literal and abstract. Have a safe and happy new year! crying

Beautiful, Bill.  Excellewnt dof and arrangement to get the right parts of the flowers sharp.  I also like the slight diagonal between the two bloom centers.

Really strong relationshoip between the two flower centres, Bill - the composition works a treat.  Those speckles can be a nuisance in an orchid image but here they dance around the frame nicely.

Bill, I too like this type of composition and surely love your photo. I have a similar composition of the same Phalaenopsis Orchid but shot back lit in the window against the sky and exposed Spot on the shadowed side. I think that it is worth a try (better with a white Phalaenopsis because it has more transparent flowers).
