White Mountains, NH

Here is one from a couple of years ago while in Sugar Hill, NH for the lupine bloom in June. I really liked the mood this particular evening with the clouds swirling around the peaks of the White Mountains along with the beautiful array of lupines in the FG.

In the last couple of years the lupines have really fallen off in these fields due to an invasive weed. One of the local residents was telling me that they have to dig this invasive species up and dispose of it. I sure hope they can control the weed so the lupines can make a comeback.

As always thanks for taking a look and leaving a comment or suggestion.

Ed

Ed,
Beautiful image. Pleasing comp and gorgeous color palette. If it were mine, I think I'd be tempted to crop a bit out of the sky to place more emphasis on the foreground.

Beautiful flowers and sweet scene. I was thinking along the same lines as Dave about a top crop.

Hi  Ed  crying  I  too  love the  serene  mood.of  this  beautiful scene..   the lupines    are breathtaking .  agree  a crop  on top would  make  this  scene  even better

I agree completely with all of the comments already made. I might even lighten it up just a bit.

Ed, I love the view here. Lupine can really be a tremendous addition to scenes such as this one. I like the crop idea already mentioned.
But I might also tighten the side to side balance with a slight crop in on the right. As the lupine runs out of the scene to the left, it might be better to bring the right open area in to the same thought of view. I might also tame down the saturation of the blue in the mountain.
But all of this is subjective ideas. Heck, you got the image that works very well, it's all just personal fine tuning in the end...... laugh

Dramatic colours.  I like the sky, it appears to be a soft reflection of the flowers below.

Ed, the low light really lets all of the different blues in this harmonize wonderfully.  There a very cool, yet inviting feeling here.  I really like the zig-zag of the lupines as they lead into the distance.  I agree with the crop off the top.

Very nice how the meandering Lupine lead one to the mountains.  Nice color.

Ed,

Beautiful field of lupine!  The color and processing looks good.  I think I might agree with some cropping off the top, at least 1/2 the darker gray band. But that's minor.  Otherwise, no suggestions.

Hope this field comes back stronger this spring for you!

Here is a repost with the suggested crops along with a little lightening of the FG. I was a little reluctant to crop out that blue band of clouds completely as I do like it in the scene. Let me know what you think. Thanks for the suggestions.

Gorgeous how the lupines complement the blues in the sky! I even think the land could use a bit more brightness to put more emphasis on the lupines. Maybe even a bit more than the extra brightness in your repo. I think I would have preferred a less "aggressive" crop at the top than the repo, some more blue would have been nice as far as I am concerned.

What a fine and lovely meadow, Ed. I like the repost, and I am glad you left the blue band at the top. As Roel said, you could bring up the meadow and trees just bit more. I like the quiet mood.

I love the repost. It brings in the lupines a lot closer. I might dodge the trees a little. When was this taken?devil

Very pretty scene.  Less sky maybe and maybe a touch more diffusion there.
