Verbal Blush

Ive consciously tried to go to locations I frequent and try to find something new. On one such evening, I managed to spot these wildflowers blooming just a few feet off the coast. The light was pretty spectacular and fading fast. I didn't have a lot of time to decide on a composition so I tried to match the light with something earthbound. What complicated the issue was that my tripod legs refused to move or expand when I needed them most. Throwing caution to the wind, I handheld my camera and fired off 4 exposures focusing from near to far and then took a fifth for the sky. As it was a handheld attempt, I had to bump the ISO up to ensure I got as sharp images as possible. The blend was a nightmare and it took a lot of work to align and put these exposures together. I'm just glad I managed to catch this scene and I hope the next time I'm somewhere like this , I can take my time to compose and shoot it :)

Really nice how the purples tie together in both the sky and flowers. Whoa, yea, can't image the effort to get the flowers aligned from several hand held shots. Well done!

This is gorgeous. Lovely color palette. Too bad about the tripod - I know what its like to have equipment issues during these fleeting moments, but great job pulling off a usable set of images. Fine as rendered but I might be tempted to play with some crops off the top to place more emphasis on the beautiful foreground.

It looks like you put this together very well hand held.  Amazing what the high ISOs can do these days.  I found these same flowers during a visit to my cousin who live in Del MAr, CA.  Maybe that is where you were?  The sky matches the vibrant sky.

There is a wonderful glow, a luminosity to these flowers. I don't feel the upper part adds much to the image, however. I think the subject has a lot of potential.

Yeah, blending handheld photos is a good way to shorten your life with five years, haha. Lovely photo, well worth the effort. The saturation is a bit too much for me, but that's a personal taste thing. The glow on the flowers in the center is very nice!

HAhahaha, I cant imagine the tedium of that blend.  Nice work and killer find.  Those colors are nuts.

A beautiful and colorful image Sairam.  Sounds like an overwhelming amount of PS work on this one, but the end product certainly makes it worthwhile.

Beautiful result, colors are sublime and the little white spots in the flowers catch our attention to slowly bring the eyes in the flowers that guide us towards the sky. Lovely picture especially after a couple of somersaults...

Gorgeous composition and processing.  I love the colors, balance between foreground and background, and the processing.  Nic job here, and not nits at all.
