Sometimes I think of Bird of Paradise as a creation of an artist bent on using the brightest colors possible with various brush strokes. Something I very much enjoy is finding comps within the flowers that help bring that boldness of design out. BG is a naturally shaded area behind the slightly backlit bloom. All comments welcome and Happy Thanksgiving to all who post and comment on the finest Flora Gallery on the planet. >=))>

I can never find a good angle for Birds of Paradise - you seem to fnd them easily! I remember several others you have posted in the past.. I really like this - the bright colours and stark contrasts are very effective and unique.

A lovely composition, Bill.  The bold lines and colors really work well here.  My only suggestion might be to go to f/22 to see if you could get a crisp focus on the lower right orange stroke.  I hope you had a great Thanksgiving.

Excellent, Bill. I really like the bold colors combined with all the sharp angles. Great concept and really well executed against the dark bg. My thoughts on how to make this even better are the same as Dennis's -  stop down even more to get it all in focus against the dark bg. As taken and presented here, I could see cropping the bottom to eliminate the oof blue base.

One, two! One, two! And through and through
  The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
  He went galumphing back.

"And, has thou slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!'
He chortled in his joy. Jabberwocky by Lewis Carroll

You somehow manage to slay the BOP every time you compose an image of it. Good work!devil
