A Wise Man once explained to me the advantages of incorporating a tree into a sunrise or sunset shot for further enhancement of the scene, I can still hear his words every time I set-up for such an image. I spent the past 4 weeks on a project in the Santa Barbara California area and this was one of the sunrises I enjoyed from our rental house. Now I know what your thinking and yes I'm not a morning person but we were trying to stay on eastern time during this trip and I was able to handle a 10 am sunrise OK.
Hand held from third floor balcony, 70% of full frame, one shot.

Mike, how do you get sunrise across what looks like the ocean from the CA coast???  You've got great colors in this and a fine tree shape.  The walkway at the bottom adds nicely.  The high perspective looks good also.  I do wish for more separation between the tree and the sun, but recognize that you'd have needed to get very friendly with the neighbors to pull that off.
