Winter Swans - 2

This is the last of the Winter Swan series.  When they launched into the air and caught me by surprise, they flew toward me first, then turned and flew away.  I was able to get 3 of them in this close shot before they turned.

Sony a6500, FE 70-200 F2.8 GM w/2X TC @ 148 mm, ISO-100, f/5.6, 1/4000, hand held.

Hi Gary
I like this Winter Swan series and it’s good to see such lovely detailed backgrounds. Assuming you use Adobe software, it wouldn’t be impossible in your first take to give a fairly nice separation of the lead swans – you need time and patience! The BG in the second take is really captivating and I’m not too bothered by the overlap – the linear pattern in the snow helps to accentuate the impression of the birds’ dynamic motion. In the last take there is separation of the three birds but the BG is less interesting.

Another nice look at these swans, Gary. I like the separation of the birds on this shot. The lower bird appears may a tad soft. Those mountains sure make for a great background. Very nice image.

Nice detail and a great grouping, Gary, though just a bit tight in the frame.  I think the first two shots you posted have more kick than this one, probably because of the backgrounds.

I like the light on these swans in this image.  Not as impressive as the other two shots but still a keeper.  I think I'd move them a little to the right of center.

That's sweet. It's neat that you got the undersides of their wings.   I think they stand out just fine against the mountain.  ISO 100 and 1/4000?  Wow, it must have been bright!!
Nice one.
