Ice formations along the banks of the brook were mostly in chaotic-looking groups, but I found this one isolated on a little branch suspended over the water.  On my way out of the woods, The sky lit up, with glowing orange-pink clouds scattered in a bright blue sky, so I went back downstream to re-shoot this little gem, hoping the colors of the sky would make for a more interesting photo.

Wow, Wayne, the colors and detail in that ice formation are amazing. I love that the crispness of the ice and branch are offset by the blur of the water below. Great vision to catch this!

What a wonderful ice formation, Wayne.  The details in the ice and the stick as well as all of the subtle colors in the ice are terrific.    I've gone looking for formations like these along the Potomac a couple of times this winter, but it hasn't been cold enough around here.

Beautiful colors and textures in the ice, Wayne!  The OOF water is great bg.  Very nicely done!

Beautiful display of colours in the ice. Thanks to the vague brownish background the chunk of ice really pops from the screen. Nice forms. I only wish there was either more or less of the wooden stick in the frame. Since you probably don't have more my suggestion is to try a square crop eliminating some of the wood above and positioning the ice slightly off-centre to the left. Just a thought, I like it as presented. Well seen.
