Pandion haliaetus

This is image number 3 of 4 of the Osprey catching the Puffer fish. I would have liked to have a little eye contact, but I still like the action.

So far this is my choice for the top photo of the series.  great look at the fish.  Is the osprey going to be surprised when the fish deflates?  Well taken.

Excellent action and techs, Matt.

I thought pufferfish excreted a toxin,     tetrodotoxin, which ishighly toxic to most animals when eaten?

Amazing.  Such a great job getting this series.  I think the Osprey couldn't give you any eye contact in this one because the Puffer fish was too heavy. :)

Best so far Matt! Lot of action happening here. I like the wing position of the Osprey and the tail spread. I've never seen a Puffer fish before...it looks like it has teeth in the large version???  I'll Google that later. Very cool capture!

Great wing position, Matt, as well as your timing to get a good angle on the fish.

Even though the eyes are not visible, this is my favorite of the series so far.  The larger version rocks.  Looking forward to #4.

This one is really cool, Matt.  Something about the face of the puffer really appeals to me.

Nicely caught with great timing on this splendid action shot. The spray and droplets, the blurred wings make for a great peak of action. And that is one weird looking fish!
