I took this one summer evening in 2013. After hand blending 2 images for sky and land back then, the image has sat fermenting on the hard drive for some unknown reason.

Well crafted, Doug. Tremendously effective lighting and excellent processing!

Dont worry about the long marinating process. I keep finding things from 2010 and such. Good find through the archives. Worth the wait.

Love this tight, stormy view. Your timing and positioning looks pretty perfect. I found it difficult to get to areas/angles to capture the best light or drama, but you nailed it here. The river weaving through the frame is very effective. Glad you rediscovered this.

Certainly an image that should be seen, Doug. Beautiful and dramatic. The blueish/orange colors are a bit different from most GC images and exceptional.

The large view really shows this off. The colors, tonality, and composition are spot-on!

Doug, Sure glad you came across this one again! What a beautiful image and it would have been a real shame not to get it out there. Really nice composition and the light and colors are fantastic. Outstanding work!!

Like a finely aged wine this has aged to perfection. I really like the soft, rich color palette in this image. It gives this image a unique mood compared to other images that I have seen from the Grand Canyon. The blending and processing is also very well done. Fantastic work!

Looks like the fermentation of this image parallels fine wine. I really like this one, Doug. It's an image that could be overcooked easily, but you chose to keep very real. One of the best canyon images I've seen for a while, glad you mined it.

My goodness! This parallels some fine art paintings in terms of depth, colors, tones and content. Yup... make it big and hang it. Though somewhat dark ...(looks good on the backlit monitor) it may require a good well balanced light.
