This image of the Grand Canyon was taken about 2 hrs prior to my early GC sunset post, while a heavy overcast was beginning to break and clouds were beginning to be more defined in the sky.  Since the sky was essentially grays, whites, and some blues in shadow, I decided to convert this to BW.  My favorite type of lighting is dappled sunshine, as it helps give texture - especially so it seems over canyon landscapes.  I posted this crop of the full pano as I think it displays better in the thumbnail view.  I have included a much larger full pano below.  Hard to find balance in large views of the canyon, this may be my best effort though still editing through images.  A colorful sky can compete with a colorful canyon, so maybe the color version might be preferred to some. Conversion in PS CS6. Thanks for the view, any suggestions.

The pano is pretty amazing, Harry. Can't help think that this should look great in color as well.

I like both, Harry. The wider frame has a spaciousness that I really like. You did a wonderful job on the conversion and the processing. Well done!

Excellent tonal range Harry.  I like the pano best.

Both versions are great, but I really like the expansive view in the panoramic version.  The dappled light definitely adds to the scene and there is a nice tonal range throughout.  Nicely done!

Really sweet, Harry.  Hard to go wrong with either version.  The pano would obviously be the choice for a big print.  You had some excellent conditions on your trip.  Nice work.

This is impressive, Harry. An amazing view and you even got great clouds to go with it. I like the b&w processing on this and can't help but think the full pano stitch would make one impressive print. Both are very nice.

Another super GC image, Harry. I especially like the wider feel of the pano. No nits whatsoever. devil

Beautiful classic scene! I prefer the pano view, it gives me a better perspective and feel for the location. Real nice work!

Both work great for my eye Harry. No nits, except the large version looks slightly over-sharpened. (That may be monitor variation.)
