Bald River

This image is a portion of the Bald River Falls in the Cherokee National Forest , Tennessee.  The center of the falls caught my eye with a light mist drifting over the lower portion.  Unfortunately, the mist does not show up very well.  Anyway, I thought I'd share.
Nikon D7000, 1/20 sec., f/8, ISO 100, Pattern metering, 120mm.

A nice collection of elements that works well for my eye, especially the green with its contrast between shadow and light. I'm not so sure about that guy in the lower right corner. That rock just looks so different, it drags my eye from the rest of the scene.

I really like the curtains of falling water. I am on the fence with the area left of the pointed boulder. Yuo might consider a crop to just left of the left edge of that boulder. Doing so would better balance the composition, at least to me. The hints of vegetation are a nice touch. The processing looks pretty good.

Don,

I like  how you've isolated this little scene.  I like the vertical and diagonal lines, including the water diagonal on the left.

I can see John's point about the boulder in the LR.  It seems out of place with no moss/lichen, or any color at all. Almost looks like it's a composite.  I think there is some color and texture in there, but perhaps that mist you speak of is obscuring a bit.

Speaking of the mist/spray that you experienced, for me anyway, along the bottom edge I think that mist is making this look like a light leak back in the film days.  It's not a big deal really, but the bottom edge has a slighty brighter luminosity.

The only other wish would be for a larger view!  I think that might help with viewing this.  Overall, I like the combination of elements and the processing is natural too.

I really like how the shutter speed you chose, along with the broken patches of moss combine to create an illusion of being painted. That little cascade on the upper left is pulling my eye out of the frame a bit, but it seems like there's a ton of different crops in here that would be very effective.
