Not the most spectacular October for leaves in my area, but we had some nice weather.  When I went out to catch sunrise at this Adirondack pond it was 28 degrees F -- just cold enough to freeze some fog.  This is part of a multi-frame panorama.  I liked some of the small sections of the pano more than the long version.

Canon 5D Mark IIII, Canon 50mm. f/1.4
1/13 sec. @ f/11
parts of two vertical frames stitched in PSCC
For NPN, I cloned out part of a camp roof that was barely visible behind the trees and fog.

The large version is a must to appreciate this and I longed for an even larger version. I like the diagonal from the lower-right grasses to the upper left ghost of a distant tree. Perfect

This is so nice!  It makes me envious, although I don't know about the 28 degrees!!!  That's kinda cold to this Florida boy!  Your composition is very nice in this and adds a lot of depth due to the FG, mid ground, and BG being so well separated.  I love the FG so much, but what really makes this image so special is the barely visible tree in the far BG.  I can't wait to see the entire pano.  Great work, Wayne.

This is a beauty, Wayne. I love the mysterious mood created by the fog and the hints of color from the trees. Real sweet.

I really like this.  The main elemets separated by the fog complement each other perfectly.

The fog adds a sense of quiet and beauty Wayne.  I am also enjoying the hint of autumn color and touch of frost.

Spectacular image, I agree with Daniel, in the separation with the icy fog cloud in the image. I am pulled into this image visually by the frosted grasses.

Wayne,

This is gorgeous!  I see this as part of that larger scene you posted in the discussion forum.  Love this image; Mood, atmosphere, and it even has a delicate nature with all the frost gracing all the vegetation.  The layers created by the advancing thickness of the fog are just wonderful.

Not too sure what could improve this, although I'm thinking of the water along the bottom. I'm wondering if a slight burn of the area to match say the upper fog in luminosity.  If anything it would be a subtle tweak - not anything that says it needs to be fixed...

Wonderful image and beautifully crafted from apparently a larger view.

What separates this from many fog pictures are the colors, imo. I'm a big fan of these types of color combinations. Browns, greys, dark greens, burnt oranges. I guess you'd call them somber colors. They tug at your emotions. The frost on the grass is pretty cool. The restraint in processing, I think, has really helped this image. A really fine expressive image.

Wayne, I like how your composition has the three layers split by the fog and the main subjects rise from lower right to upper left.  The faint fir in the UL finishes the image nicely.

Stunning image, Wayne.  The suble autumn colors, the fog, the frost, the wonderful layers receding back to silhouette, all elements come together to create image of quiet elegance.  Worth the cold fingers.

Great image, Wayne. The mist and the frost are a very effective combination of elements. The composition works well and I also like how the faint colors gently appear.

Wayne, this is beautiful!  The frost and the fog create great mood and add visual interest.  The fall color is also beautiful and adds to  the sense of seasonal transition.

Super shot Wayne!  Great composition. Might suggest saturating a bit to bring out some of the colors. Keep up the good work

Wayne, a nicely moody and chilly look at late fall.  The touch of fall colors in the middle ground and that final tree in the distance make for some great layering with the frosted grasses starting the story off very well.

Wayne, I appreciate the subtlety and serenity in your image a lot. There are delicate details to explore in the foreground grasses, and the hint of autumn colors in the distance just make the difference for me.
