This guy has pretty good camouflage. It's hard to see that the eye is partially open.

Nice one, Allen. I found a place close to where I live where the Nighthawks sit on the fence posts along side the road. I don't know about your experience, but the ones I see are rarely disturbed even if you get close. I really like the blurred background. If it were mine, I would pull the exposure on the post and bird down just a bit. Well done.

Really nice work in what looks like some pretty harsh light, Allen. The detail is excellent and I like the well worn post as a perch.

Wonderful sighting, and great species. Indeed, true masters in camouflage. You could try and tone down the hard light a bit, but already terrific as presented ! Cheers, Hans

Hi Allen,
Tone it down just a tweet to get those bright whites tamed down. A great bird with excellent patterned plumage. Well done...............Jim

Beautiful colors, great detail. A bird I don't remember seeing any images of before.

Yeah, the spirits have so much detail, it's hard to see the detail. Flying camouflage. All their body parts are well hidden. But this is a really cool image that contrasts so well against the background.
