Rufous sibia pair
by Ajit Huilgol
In December 2016, I did a tour of Corbett Tiger Reserve, and two birding sites - Sat Tal and Pangot. These are all in the foothills of the Himalayas, and in winter, they can get bitterly cold. I was sitting in a bird hide in Sat Tal when this pair of rufous sibias flew over to feed on the grains that are used as bait. The one on the right was sitting on a horizontal perch, but when it fanned its tail feathers out, you could barely see the perch. If you look very carefully, you can see a tiny portion of the perch to the left of the fanned out tail feathers.
