Hello all, I haven't posted for a while due to holidays ... This week I went out again, and encountered some Dunlins feeding between patches of sea foam. More to see in my blog post: www.hansoverduin.nl/blog/ .
Thanks for viewing and have a nice weekend !
Cheers,
Hans

Lovely detail in the Dunlin, Hans, and I like the slightly foggy vegetation.  I'm a bit ambivalent about the amount of out of focus foam in the foreground-it feels just a bit excessive for my tastes.  I find myself wishing it had more of the same translucent quality as the stuff in front of the vegetation.    Still a very interesting image and one that takes some looking at, which I like.

I really dig this Hans! I think all the OOF areas being white really gives this an ethereal feel. Great eye to see this and excellent execution in my opinion. Nice work!

I like the concept, but for me the amount of OOF foliage in the foreground is more than I care for.

This is definitely different but it has your signature all over with respect to the depth of field and point of view.  Good detail and what is visible.  Like some of the others, a bit more of the bird would have improved this a bit for me.

Thanks for your comments and honest feedback. Don't worry, there's 100%-Dunlin-Shots in my blog as well enlightened. I tend to like these half-hidden images but appreciate that not everyone does cool. Cheers , Hans

Hans

This is very nice.  I like the foam that partially obscures the bird.  It makes it special and a little different.

Dunlins are really pretty birds. But all that sand or foam or whatever it might be is far too distracting. I admit that getting an eye level view of a subject is nice, but why take it to extremes and risk getting water and grit in your equipment? No thank you. Sorry, but that is my opinion.

The soft foreground and the overall color scheme makes for a very artistic image, Hans. The light is excellent and the hints of vegetation in the background adds a lot. But I too would like to see a little more of the dunlin outside of the foreground foam.
