Bald Knob
by Matt Dallos
From my front yard I can see the top of a ridge called Bald Knob. At the top that ridge is, as you would guess, bald. Most of the top is covered in some low scrubby oaks and some various bushes with a few groups of maples.
On this morning I was awake before sunrise and saw that this ridge was covered by a low cloud. I grabbed my camera and headed up to the top. After about 30 minutes of shooting the cloud cleared and it was a warm sunny day. I shot this just before the cloud vanished.
Comments and critiques are welcome and appreciated. I know that the tree isn't perfectly symmetrical..but it is a tree, so I think it doesn't ruin the shot.

I love what's going in the background too with the clusters of trees. The trees seem to be mingling at a party or something. There is a real "living" quality here and I think you've got everything right. The vibrant but still somewhat subtle color is simply awesome. I love this and could look for a long long time.....
Really sweet photography Matt
This is really nice. The cloud/fog make this image and I like the fact that you didn't try and include the entire tree. In other words, when you cut something off, make it on purpose and this works very well. It's also nice that although much of the tree is now bare, there is still some leaves with color.
You were well rewarded for scampering up the mountain.

Jerry..This is in Central PA..along a spur of Tussey Ridge. If the blue ridge looks like this..I really need to get down there soon and explore.
Instantly one of my favorites of yours, great mood, great light and color palate, and the centered, frame filling comp is really well concieved!
