Hey Dude Ya Hungry?

I found this fresh Twelve Spotted Skimmer while photographing Blue Flag Iris. He is still drying out and never moved all the time I was photographing. The small fly landed beside him like he was checking him out. I thought at the time, OOh, mister dragonflies first meal!!
It didn't happen because the Skimmer was still drying out. That was one lucky fly!! Comments/suggestions? Thanks Larry

Great image Larry. The three iris leaves makes for a good backdrop for the dragonfly. I like the details you captured in the DF and that smooth background really allows his wings to stand out strongly. Just an overall pleasing image to view, well done.

Larry, awesome shot and very good clarity and sharpness. On first glance my eye is pulled a little to the left away from the subject. Maybe just a little more balance on the crop. But all in all a great shot.

Larry,

I rarely submit to this gallery so don't feel particularly qualified to comment but I do think the detail here is exceptional. I also like the light and the bg as a backdrop for this critter. Beautiful work.

It's excellent in all aspects. The tilt of the Skimmer's abdomen is a finishing touch!
