Solomon's Seal

Wish I had a slightly darker background but there was light falling on the grass on the background and I could not reach that spot to place a diffusor easily.

Anyways, Nikon D200, 200mm F/4 Micronikkor, F/11, 1/30 Sec and Tripod used to make this shot.

As always your thoughts are much appreciated.

Exquisitely beautiful. I think the BG works fine.

Very peaceful image, Ram, I like this alot. I could vision this with some what of a darker bg as you said, but this still works for me. Comp and DOF is great and I love the colors. Well done, I say. :toast: :toast: :toast:

One of my favourite flowers, apparently you can use the powdered root as a poultice for bruises etc.

One of my favorites as well...I've been trying to capture one here (in Michigan) before they fade... love the DOF and comp--nice focus and nice angle. I too would agree with a slightly darker background for a little more contrast, but think it works well as-is also.

Wonderful comp, Ram. While the bg is a little lighter than you wish for, I still think this shot works well. I like your choice of POV. I'd be very happy to have this as mine

Beautiful capture, Ram. A splendid composition and great colouring. I especially like the splay of leaves in the UR.

Ram: Too bad about the BG. I feel your pain. Why not send me the RAW file and be done with it. Absolutely brilliant comp and capture. 2 thumbs up! >=))>

While a darker BG may have produced a more "studio-like" shot, I enjoy the natural look of this. Excellent detailed focus on the whole plant, with that light BG totally OOF provides a very nice separation here.

Really nice comp with the diagonal placement of the flowers. Have you tried darkening the bg? Easy enough to do in PS if you select, color range, levels w/dropper. The tough part in that is that the flower margin matches the bg color, so it will be hard to separate the 2 without some time in front of the computer. Overall, nice emotional appeal :toast:

Ram,

I like this as posted very much but darkening the bg a bit would be pretty straight forward in CS3, if that's what you want to do.

Perfect placement in the frame Ram. Glorious detail & color in this soft light. I rather like the light green bg here as it emphasises even more the stem that carries these beauties! :toast:

What a fabulous shot, Ram! Oh, man, it's just a gorgeous image. Love the comp with the foliage sweeping upward from the delicate hanging bells. The bg is just great. Congratulations.
