This Great Horned Owl took over an osprey nest on a platform on a March in CT. I took this photo, on a tripod, with a Canon 20D with a Canon 500mm f4 IS lens and two 1.5X kenko teleconverters. AV mode 1/1000 sec, f4.5, -1/3 exposure compensation. The mother mainly had her eyes closed, but this photo was taken when crows fly near the nest -- when the crows came she would open her eyes and fluff up her feathers.
